The awards ceremony and reception for the 55th Annual Membership Show was held on Sunday, September 23. Artists, other members, and guests enjoyed viewing a polished and eclectic show, listening to classical guitar music provided by Christopher McGuire, and eating delicious appetizers by Aspen Catering.

The eighty-two watercolor and water media paintings have been on exhibit since Aug. 29, 2018, at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. The works that were selected  by Robert Burridge from the 338 submitted reflect a range of examples of contemporary watermedia paintings.

Robert Burridge selected these pieces as the award winners of the 55th Annual SWS Membership Show (in order of significance).

Merchant Award winners include Beverly Boren for “Summer Santa”, Muriel Mimura for “Reflection – Cassis”, Carol Mitchel for “Interior Shadows”, Ann Winchester for “Another Loli’s Pink Hair”, Sherry Daerr for “Rascal”, Betty Smith for “Magic”, Krystyna Dale for “Genevieve”, Fred LaRue for “Whatcha Got”, Ginny Hoppe for “Red Roof Barn”, Kay McCabe for “Jamie”, Denise Sanders for “Carter and Martin, Don Taylor for “Artilleryman”, and Tom Brown for “Passage to Capalin”.
